TRAINING COURSE

Airport Security Supervisors

Introduction

To ensure that relevant personnel at airports can supervise and monitor the implementation of aviation security preventive measures through the application of the relevant competencies required for security supervisors. Participants of this course will be prepared to plan, coordinate and conduct quality control measures utilizing Annex 17 and ICAO methodology in accordance with approved programmes.

Note: This training course will be delivered on customer request. Please contact our Training Department for the possibilities to train your staff. Will be delivered in cooperation with ICAO Aviation Security Training Centers.

Course Content

The course has been designed to enable selected security supervisory personnel to:

  • Supervise the implementation of the aviation security preventive measures and monitor the quality of the performance of the various tasks; and

  • Contribute to the safety and security of passengers, crew, ground personnel, and the general public.

Who should take this course

  • Personnel responsible for setting up supervisory training within their organizations;
  • AVSEC personnel at the basic level with the potential for promotion to the supervisory level;
  • Existing supervisors who have not received formal supervisory training;
  • AVSEC personnel from the civil aviation authority or airlines with the primary responsibility for the application of aviation security preventive measures at airports; and
  • Personnel from aviation related agencies engaged in aviation security support activities.

Pre-requisites

Essential:

Participants should satisfy the following criteria: 

  • have successfully completed the ICAO ASTP BASIC training course or equivalent; and

  • have written and oral command of the language of instruction.

 

In the case of the recruitment of supervisory personnel from external sources, such personnel should:

  • have satisfactorily completed secondary school or equivalent education; and
  • be conversant with the contents of ICAO ASTP BASIC.
