This 3-day training course will provide the attendees with the detailed knowledge of Annex I (Part 21) Subpart D – Changes to Type Certificates, in particular how to determine if a change is minor, major or significant, and Subpart E - Supplemental Type Certificates.
In addition, the training course is addressing in detail changes to the Operational Suitability Data (OSD) as eligible to complex powered aircraft. During the last day the relevant CS-23, CS-27 & CS-29 paragraphs, which may require a showing of compliance, will be explained. Subpart B (Flight) and Subpart E (Powerplant) will not be addressed as a Cabin Interior Change will not have an effect on Flight or Powerplant.
Still, flight testing will be dealt with as specific changes may require flight testing, for example EMI testing. Also, an overview will be provided of FAA AC material which is identified by EASA as being acceptable as AMC material.
At the end of the training, attendees should have a good understanding of the classification of changes, Supplemental Type Certificates, Operational Suitability Data, Flight testing and the content/objectives of relevant CS-23, CS-27, CS-29 paragraphs.
Engineering and certification staff of EASA Design Organisations, but also staff of third country Civil Aviation Authorities and representatives of third country aviation industries responsible for approving of design changes respectively designing such design changes.
