Managing Competence Assessment in a Part-145/-M Organisation

Introduction

Competence assessment has been mandatory in a Part 145 Environment for several years. In 2010 It was further stated that Part M Organizations must manage the competence of their Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation Staff, this requirement became effective in Sept 2010.

 

AMC 145.A.30(e) Personnel requirements states :- The referenced procedure requires amongst others that planners, mechanics, specialized services staff, supervisors and certifying staff are assessed for competence by 'on the job' evaluation and/or by examination relevant to their particular job role within the organisation before unsupervised work is permitted. A record of the qualification and competence assessment should be kept.

 

M.A.706, Paragraph (k) states :- For all large aircraft and for aircraft used for commercial air transport the organisation shall establish and control the competence of personnel involved in the continuing airworthiness management, airworthiness review and/or quality audits in accordance with a procedure and to a standard agreed by the competent authority.

 

This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the requirement for the effective Management and Measurement of Competencies within the organisation, In addition it provides an effective understanding regarding industry best practice techniques to enable your nominated Competence Assessors and Managers to deliver effective Competence Management and control within your organisation.

It is an industry specific one day program specifically designed for those who need to manage, or perform competence assessment.
