This course is an introduction to the regulations surrounding the use of Quality Systems when using FSTDs for aeroplane or helicopter pilot training. It is also to make FSTD operators aware of what information can be made available to them from developing a comprehensive recording system (as part of a Quality System).
The future of Quality Systems with regard to EASA proposals for Certification Specifications is discussed to allow the attendees to develop their knowledge of what lies ahead for them under EASA.
Also mentioned during the course is the development by ICAO and the Royal Aeronautical Society of the new technical and training standards for the FSTD qualification and the changes that will come into effect as a result of the proposed 4th edition to ICAO Doc 9625 Volume 2 (Helicopters). This document has never existed before for helicopters.
