Introduction

Understand the Airline Business in Four Days!

This interactive course is provided in cooperation with the Delft University of Technology. It presents a systematic approach based on the EU-OPS airline regulation towards an introduction of comprehending the total environment that airline companies operate within. The focus is on different airline strategies and business models, how they are managed and operated in a complex and changing global competitive environment.

During this programme a systematic approach in understanding airline companies within their dynamic environment is given. The course is based on EU OPS regulations (EASA airline regulations) and is two fold. In the first part participants get an overview of the existing airline business models, their inherent strategies, management tasks, external characteristics and (financial) performance. The second part focuses on the airline operations and their processes. This course is provided by Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Aerospace Management and Operations, Airline and Airport profile.

Course Content

To make the participants familiar with the markets of airline companies four distinct learning goals are set-up:

  1. Interpretation and application of the relevant regulations towards airline operations and there strategy
  2. Recognition and definition of the difference between airline business models
  3. Analysis and description of the inherent airline’s direct and indirect operations
  4. Understanding and application of the interaction between the airline’s business model, direct and indirect operations and strategy towards innovation

The course lecturers will be available during the day for discussions.

By the end of this course, you should have:
