IATA 7.1 - Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) for Preparing DG Consignments – Recurrent

Introduction

This Training course is for personnel responsible for preparing Dangerous Goods Consignments as per IATA DGR section 1.5 and in accordance with the Competency-Based Training & Assessment (CBTA) approach for well-defined function 7.1. - Previously covered under categories 1 & 2.

This course is available as a classroom, Virtual Classroom and on-demand as in-house training.

Course Content

After successfully completing the DGR 7.1 Training Course participants will have acquired the competencies to prepare a Consignment of Dangerous Goods for transport by air in accordance with Annex 18 of the ICAO Technical Instructions and the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.  

  • Fulfil the regulatory compliance requirements for revalidation and keep your certification current
  • Continue to perform tasks involved in preparing dangerous goods consignments correctly
  • Apply the significant changes and amendments to IATA’s DGR manual to prepare dangerous goods consignments
  • Recognize the legal responsibilities of stakeholders involved in transportation of dangerous goods by air

Exam and certificate

  • After having attended the DGR 7.1 Training Course, an examination/mastery test developed according to the IATA requirements is available containing 25 open and multiple-choice questions. The passing score is 80%.
  • An IATA Certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the course and an assessment

Personnel involved in preparing dangerous goods consignments:

  • Shippers and packers
  • Manufacturers and exporters of dangerous goods or products that contain dangerous goods
  • Cargo agents, Consolidators and Freight Forwarder
  • Operator’s staff acting as shippers

Pre-requisites

Essential:

Prerequisite for participating in the training Course is the ability to master the English language at the ICAO level 4 proficiency level. 

Participants must hold a valid Dangerous Goods Regulations for preparing dangerous goods personnel certificate (or equivalent Category 1,2) for the entire duration of the course they attend.
