OPS 1 Training Course

Introduction

(Note: the following EASA OPS courses are also available:

This EU OPS-1 training course reflects the regulatory introduction of EU-OPS which includes Amendment 15 of JAR-OPS 1 (introduced on 16 July 2008).
Do not confuse this course with the new EASA OPS courses based on the proposed regulations from EASA arriving in 2012.

Each state who has signed the Chicago Convention must reflect the operational Standards and requirements as expressed in Annex 6 and ICAO DOC 7030/4 in their national Civil Aviation Regulations. For European Union (EU) Member States (MS) this is done through OPS 1 as Annex III to revised Regulation 3922/91 implemented as of 16 July 2008. For other ECAC MS this may be done through adopting the latest version of JAR-OPS 1, Amendment #15. JAR-OPS 1, Amendment #15 is identical to (EU) OPS 1, Amendment #2.

By adopting OPS 1 (JAR-OPS 1) as national IR (Implementing Rule) for Commercial Air Transport (CAT) operators, states are fulfilling their operational ICAO obligations.

The OPS 1 Training Course is a comprehensive training course in understanding and application of operational requirements for European CAT operators including thorough presentation of all Subparts in OPS 1 and their application standards.

Course Content

After an OPS 1 course, participants will have a good working knowledge of the content in OPS 1 and associated implementation procedures including relation to international and national legislation.

For EU participants, a good working knowledge of OPS 1 is essential to assure proper implementation of OPS 1. For Non-EU participants, proper knowledge of latest Amendment of JAR-OPS 1 is a prerequisite for understanding and implementation of requirements in JAR-OPS 1 and to comply with national operational Civil Aviation Regulations for CAT.
